A better buy than a Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series? 2023 Ineos Grenadier prices shoot up as rising production costs bite

If you ordered a Grenadier before November 9, you will have avoided the most recent price rises.

Ineos has raised the prices of its Grenadier off-road SUV and ute for 2023, with new customers now asked to fork out as much as $13,030 than before.

CarsGuide understands the price increases are due to the rising costs of raw materials and production that is affecting most brands, with the price rise coming into effect from November 9.

The Grenadier range now kicks off at $97,000 for the Utility Wagon ($12,500 pricier than before) while the Trailmaster and Fieldmaster variants are now $108,525 each (up $13,030).

Likewise, the Grenadier Station Wagon is up $12,500 to $98,000, while the Trailmaster and Fieldmaster versions are up $13,030 to $109,525.

Differentiating the Utility Wagon and the Station Wagon is the former’s two-seat configuration (the latter has five) and its leaning towards being a cargo carrier thanks to its ability to swallow a Euro pallet in the rear.

Despite the increase to pricing, standard equipment remains the same as before, with the base car equipped with Recaro seats, LED headlights, roof rails, 17-inch steel wheels a full-size spare wheel and off-road navigation.

Built to tackle tough terrain, all Grenadiers are also fitted with heavy-duty suspension, permanent four-wheel drive, a two-speed transfer case, and front and rear skid plates.

The Trailmaster variants add a raised air intake, access ladder and interior rails, as well as the rough pack and smooth pack that bundle front and rear differential locks, all-terrain tyres, lockable storage box and puddle lamps.

Meanwhile, the Fieldmaster features locking wheel nuts, safari windows, heated front seats, leather interior, carpet floor mats, a unique jacket and the smooth pack.

Each variant can be equipped with one of two BMW-sourced 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engines, both paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The petrol-powered engine produces 210kW/450Nm, while the diesel outputs 183kW/550Nm.

The Grenadier will also launch with pick-up body style down the line, but pricing and specifications are yet to be revealed.
