Land Rover Australia has announced it will now offer a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty on all its vehicles from April 1 this year.

The new coverage is a significant increase over the three-year/100,000km warranty previously offered by Land Rover, bringing it in line with the assurance periods of mainstream manufacturers such as Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Ford and Volkswagen.

Sister brand Jaguar will also move to the longer warranty at the same time as Land Rover. This will see the two prestige brands match their Mercedes-Benz rival, who moved to a five-year warranty a year ago.

Land Rover Australia has offered five-year warranties from time to time as temporary buyer incentives, but managing director Mark Cameron said the new coverage will stay in place indefinitely.

“The warranty revision is an important change, one we see as a key progression for the Land Rover brand in Australia and one that is permanent,” he said.

“We have worked extremely hard at developing the extended warranty for the Australian market and I believe the increased length of the warranty period, plus unlimited kilometres will deliver an even more enjoyable experience for Land Rover buyers.

“We are proud to be able to offer our Australian customers such an extensive warranty.”
