Nissan USA has dropped a fresh teaser of the new 2025 Nissan Patrol (called Armada in the US), with a thinly veiled story about the heritage of the Patrol and the 1967 Patrol the company has in its heritage collection.

The 2025 Nissan Patrol Y63, shown in a deep aqua paint hue, appears mostly cropped out of one image published by Nissan, but gives us a new look at the grille and some surrounding details.

Given the red used for the Nissan badge, it’s likely the variant pictured is a high-spec version of the 4WD like the Warrior here in Australia, which also wears red trim.

It’s been a long journey so far for those waiting for the next generation of Nissan’s popular 4WD, but there’s plenty we know so far.

Nissan said the next Patrol is coming with the same 336kW/698Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine as the Infiniti QX80, which is a cousin to the Patrol as a Lexus LX is to the Toyota LandCruiser.

That engine will pair with a nine-speed automatic and four-wheel drive.

The Patrol shares much of its chassis and underpinnings with the Infiniti, though chances are the off-roading ability will be cranked up for the Nissan, given how important Australia and the Middle East are for the model.

In previous teasers, we’ve seen what bits of the Y63 Patrol look like, but this is the first time we’ve seen any of it in daylight at Nissan’s behest - even if it’s just a small sliver.

The Patrol will be revealed in full in a matter of weeks, which means we could see it on Aussie roads in the first half of 2025.
