Pricing for the new turbo-diesel variants of the GMW Tank 300 have been revealed.
The new powertrain will mirror its petrol and hybrid siblings with two variants: the Lux, which starts at $47,990, and the Ultra, which starts at $51,990 (both are national drive-away prices).
That represents an increase of $1500 over the equivalent petrol variant, but $7500 less than its hybrid equivalents.
An Isuzu MU-X starts at $53,400, while a Ford Everest starts at $54,240, both at before on-road costs, meaning they both comfortably tip over the $57,000 mark in each state and territory once drive-away pricing is calculated.
The Jeep Wrangler, which is only offered in 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol guise, starts at $75,950 before on-road costs.
Powering the turbo-diesel Tank 300 for 2025 is the same 2.4-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine borrowed from the Cannon Alpha ute. It sends 135kW/480Nm to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel engine also upgrades braked towing capacity to 3000kg, which is 500kg more than the petrol and hybrid versions.

Fuel economy is quoted at 7.8-litres/100km on both variants, which differ in price based on standard equipment.
A full specifications list is yet to be revealed, but based on its petrol and hybrid counterparts, it is safe to assume that the turbo-diesel variants will carry over most of the same equipment.
That means the Lux will carry 17-inch alloys, two 12.3-inch displays for digital driver’s display and multimedia functions with the latter providing wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, six-way power driver’s seat adjustment, a sunroof and synthetic leather seats.

The Ultra will add larger 18-inch alloys, Nappa leather-accented seats with heating, cooling and massaging functions for the driver and front passenger, as well as eight-way power adjustment for the driver.
Additionally, there is a heated steering wheel, digital radio and 64-colour ambient lighting.
Approach and departure angles remain standard at 33-degrees/34-degrees across the range, along with a minimum ground clearance of 224mm.
All GWM products are backed by a seven year/unlimited km warrant and a capped price servicing program of the same length. Customers can now order the Tank 300 diesel.
