Carsguide Contributing Journalist Emily Agar had this to say at the time: The GWM Haval H6 Ultra Hybrid offers an attractive package for those hunting for a medium SUV hybrid that is affordable but well-equipped. Its rivals have a nicer on-road driving experience and better multimedia systems but you get a lot for your money and the H6 has great on-going costs.

This is what Emily Agar liked most about this particular version of the GWM Haval H6: Pleasant design inside and out, Great price tag and ongoing costs, Well-equipped for price
The 2024 GWM Haval H6 carries a braked towing capacity of up to 2000 Kg, but check to ensure this applies to the configuration you're considering.
The GWM Haval H6 2024 prices range from $24,530 for the basic trim level SUV Premium to $39,490 for the top of the range SUV Ultra Hybrid.
The interior of the 2024 GWM Haval H6 looks well-made with a chunky-stepped dashboard that includes various focal points with its chrome accents and large air vents. There are a multitude of soft touchpoints throughout the car but on the base model, the heavier use of plastics and cloth seats create a cabin which is more basic than pleasant. The synthetic-leather upholstery of the higher grades feels nice underhand and is easy to clean.
Every Haval H6 enjoys a dashboard that features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and all grades excluding the top Ultra variants have a 10.25-inch touchscreen multimedia screen. Ultra models enjoy an upgraded 12.3-inch multimedia system and a head-up display.
There are two engines available. All non-hybrid models share the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a maximum power output of 150kW/320Nm and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Hybrid models share a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a maximum power output of 179kW/530Nm and a dedicated hybrid transmission.
It sounds as though the material the dashboard structure or skin is made from has started to collapse or degrade in some other way. If the structure beneath the vinyl skin of the dashboard fails, you could conceivably wind up with a mis-shapen dash.
While that might sound trivial, it’s important that this gets fixed as this part of the dashboard houses the airbag. And if the opening for the airbag is not the right shape or is compromised somehow, it could affect the correct deployment of the airbag in a crash. And the consequences of that aren’t hard to imagine.

The best advice here is to disconnect the battery and contact the dealership. Any time there’s odd electrical behaviour combined with a burning smell, there’s a decent chance you have an electrical short-circuit on your hands. And that can easily lead to a fire that could destroy the car and anything near it.
By disconnecting the battery, you’re removing the power source that is making something hot enough to produce the burning smell. The constant beeping, meanwhile could be a symptom of the same thing as the shorted or damaged wiring allows the warning beeper to continue blaring away even though the ignition is turned off.

Although it’s an inconvenience to lose your car for any length of time, it might be the only way the service team can diagnose the problem and attempt a fix. We like to remind each other that car makers have obligations under consumer law, but it also pays to remember that, as the consumer, you also need to give the manufacturer the opportunity to put things right if it can.
The best solution would be for the dealer to provide a courtesy car while yours is in dry dock.
