To the uninitiated, the Honda CRX may look like a space-age Civic but this little two-door two-seater was more exotic than that.

In period, it would have muscled up against the Ford Capri and Toyota Celica but its sophisticated four-wheel double wishbone suspension made it a handling champion.

Australian-delivered cars rocked a double overhead cam D-series engine until the Del Sol version was introduced in 1992 with zingy B16 V-Tec motor.

The line-up currently starts at $4,180 for the CRX (base) and ranges through to $6,160 for the range-topping CRX (base).
