The new-generation Isuzu MU-X has had a big upgrade with a bunch of new tech and styling features. The basics are still the same - it's a large seven-seat SUV.

I test drove the MU-X LS-T with four-wheel drive which is the top of the range and costs $65,990, before on-road costs. That's about $8000 more than the last model but it does have those new features.

It competes with cars like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport so if you think of it in those terms, it's a proper off-roader. I didn't do any off-roading but did drive it around with my family in tow for seven days, for this week's family review.
