Base equipment includes keyless entry and start, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system, 360-degree view camera system, Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four USB-A ports, one USB-C port, 12-volt socket, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, digital and AM/FM radio.
The interior of the ZS is functional and pleasant but never ventures into feeling premium, even in the top grade Essence.
The dashboard is well shaped with pod-like air vents sitting above the 12.3-inch touchscreen multimedia system. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits behind a nicely padded steering wheel that features controls.
A panoramic sunroof and upgraded synthetic leather trims are available on the top model grade.
Both ZS Hybrid+ grades share the same 1.5L four-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain that produces up to 158kW of power and 465Nm of torque. This is paired with a three-speed hybrid transmission system that is a bit rough around the edges.
There are three drive modes - Eco, Sport, Normal.
There are three regenerative braking levels but all feel largely the same in terms of responsiveness.

The boot space of the ZS rivals some mid-sized SUVs at 443L. The boot features an adjustable floor but you won't get a level loading space with the high lip. Surprisingly, there’s no powered tailgate on even the top model grade and the boot lid needs a firm 'slam' to latch properly.
Both ZS models have a 0-100km/h sprint time of 8.7 seconds and while there is no official top speed, you could estimate it being around the 150km/h mark.
The ZS Hybrid has an official combined fuel cycle figure of a low 4.7L/100km and a 41L fuel tank giving you a theoretical driving range of up to 872km.
MG recommends a minimum of 95 RON unleaded petrol to be used.
