The Mitsubishi Outlander is a firm favourite with Australian buyers, vying with the Holden Captiva for cheapest seven-seat SUV on the market. Unlike the Captiva, the Outlander isn't the automotive equivalent of Methuselah and has just recently had a very successful facelift.
Our fearless duo each spent a week in Mitsubishi's recently refreshed Outlander Exceed diesel. With a 2.2-litre 110kW/360Nm turbodiesel, this top of the line non-PHEV Outlander impresses with its lengthy spec sheet and value for money proposition - as well as ensuring both Peter and Nikki were happy with Apple CarPlay included.
The Exceed has seven seats, which Peter put to the test during his week aboard, with six six-footers crammed in along with luggage and a long trip.
The Outlander Exceed also has a tonne of safety gear, including AEB, lane departure warning, active cruise and reverse cross traffic alert, which came in handy with a full car.
