The little 208 should be great for your trip, with great comfort and economy. I've just had one on test and it gets The Tick.

The Peugeot 208's interior is… unique. As our review images show, the small diameter steering wheel is distant from the dash cluster. The dials are perched way atop the dashboard in a layout Peugeot refers to as the ‘iCockpit’. Cool, aesthetic and very French if you’re around 183cm (six foot) tall, but if you’re particularly short or particularly tall, the wheel begins to obscure vital information. Cloth seats are standard on the Active, Allure, and GT-Line grades with 'leather-appointed' trim standard on the sporty GTi flagship.
