The Suzuki SX4 is a small crossover SUV that arrived in Australia in 2007.
Designed by the Italian design and engineering studio, Italdesign Guigiaro, in its first generation, the SX4 offered both hatch and sedan bodystyles as well as automatic and manual transmissions.
Prices for used SX4s currently range from $6,710 to $12,650 for the SX4 Crossover and SX4 Crossover S AWD variants, respectively.
The SX4 nameplate was dropped in 2012 in order to make way for the Suzuki S-Cross moniker.
As the Suzuki SX4 is sold around the globe, the SX4 can also be found wearing Fiat Sedici, Maruti Suzuki SX4, Suzuki Neo baleno, and Changan-Suzuki SX4 badges.
Your budget limits you to older models, around 2010-2012. One to look at is the Suzuki SX4; others are the Kia Sportage and Mitsubishi ASX.

Most small SUVs are all-wheel drive, as is your SX4, which means it's an on-demand four-wheel drive system rather than a traditional one. If the SX4 does what you want you could try a Suzuki Grand Vitara, or a Nissan X-Trail.
