The mid-point of the Ford EcoSport 2018 model range is the Trend model, which sports black exterior trim elements to help separate it from the line-up. But that’s not all that’s different.
The Trend is priced attractively at $24,490 plus on-road costs, and unlike the entry-level model, has a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with 92kW of power and 170Nm of torque. It is front-wheel drive, and has a six-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of specifications, the Trend adds black roof-rails, black exterior trim elements, 16-inch alloy wheels, a leather-lined steering wheel, and it moves the media game along with an 8.0-inch screen with Sync 3, inbuilt sat nav with free map updates for life, and a seven-speaker sound system.
Media is controlled by way of Ford’s Sync 3 console, and there’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, two USB ports, DAB+ digital radio, voice control.
