Get in quick! VW Australia to raise prices again, with most variants to be up by hundreds

Volkswagen Australia has announced it will increase prices for much of its model range, effective July 1 - the second time the brand will increase its pricing this year.

While most manufacturers will increase their model pricing at least once or twice this year, Volkswagen is making it known well in advance, allowing prospective customers to get in before the rise - and in turn potentially netting the car brand a nice little sales bump before the end of the financial year.

The biggest pricing increases come with the Golf line-up, with all but the GTI copping a price increase of at least $1100, the range starting from $36,290 before on-road costs after July 1.

Volkswagen Australia announced the changes ahead of time as it’s important to provide customers and dealerships advance notice.

Aditionally, orders placed before the price changes take effect will have their price protected along with already existing orders.

Volkswagen is currently unable to confirm orders for Golf R or certain variants of Tiguan (132TSI, 147TDI and 162TSI), though Monochrome and Adventure editions of the Tiguan are still available in some cases.

Prices for options are mostly the same as before, though some options for certain models have increased in cost by $50 or $100, such as sunroofs or luxury packs. It’s best to check based on the desired model and option combination.

A full list of pricing changes can be found below for the entire Volkswagen Australia range. Note all prices only take effect from July 1.

The recently launched VW Amarok's pricing remains the same as at launch.
