The 2008 BMW 5 Series carries a braked towing capacity of up to 2000 Kg, but check to ensure this applies to the configuration you're considering.
The BMW 5 Series 2008 prices range from $9,680 for the basic trim level Sedan Base to $28,820 for the top of the range Sedan Sport.

The mileage is at the lower end of the expected range for a 2008 model, so that's good, and assuming your description of its condition is accurate I would expect that you would get $23,000-$25,000 on a private sale.

YOU won't have any degradation in safety by switching to a conventional tyre, and the ride will be much better. You'll have to carry a spare of some sort, but that's not a huge issue on your car. Or you could carry a can of foam repairer to get you out of trouble if you have a puncture.
