Ranger keeps draining battery

I have a 2012 Ford Ranger XLT with 59,000 km on the clock. If I leave it garaged for 5 or 6 days the battery goes flat. There are no accessories left switched on, all the doors are shut, the vehicle is always left locked and the keys are never left in it. I bought another HD Century battery after two years, but the problem remains. The latest from Ford is, and I quote "for every 10 Rangers made, 2 will have problems" how good is that! When you pay $56,000 for a new vehicle I believe you should expect better than this. After owning both Toyota and Nissan in the past I am sorry I didn't stay with either one or the other. The Toyota had 346,000 km on it and had never let me down. I would be interested to hear from anyone else with the same problem.

Have you fitted any extra accessories, like driving lights, a winch, towbar etc. that might be causing the problem, which is clearly a drain that is not being cut when the ignition is switched off. We haven't heard of any other Rangers with the same problem, but if anyone has had a similar problem they could contact us. In the meantime take it to an auto electrician and have it checked. The last car with a similar problem was the early VE Calais, which had a problem with a drain on the battery through the computer, which wasn't switched off with the ignition and continued to drain the battery.
