The latest recall in Honda’s global fuel pump saga affects 52,000 cars in Australia, according to a statement released by the Japanese brand via the Department of Infrastructure’s vehicle recalls website.
With as many as 4.5 million cars affected globally, this recall includes 52,051 cars built between 2017 and 2020 and sold in Australia.
The models affected include the Honda Civic and Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Odyssey, Accord, City, Jazz and even the NSX supercar.
“If the fuel pump stops working, this could stop the engine from starting or stall the engine while driving,” Honda said in a statement published on the Vehicle Recalls website.
“This may increase the risk of an accident and may result in serious injury to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

Honda says it will take the first step in the recall itself by contacting owners of affected vehicles. Repairs will be free of charge to the customer, though will be “subject to parts availability”, meaning it will likely be some time before the brand has made it through the whole list of recalled vehicles.
“Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and advised to take their vehicle to a Honda Service Centre for repair,” Honda said.

“Consumers can also contact the service department of their preferred Honda Service Centre to make a booking to have the repair conducted free of charge, subject to parts availability.”
A previous recall, made originally in July 2020 and updated in 2021, listed 54,300 cars including Civic, City, Jazz, CR-V, HR-V and Accord.
