Ford’s F-Series pick-up truck has a long history, dating back to the late 1940s, but in Australia it’s been on again, off again.
While it is now firmly on again, the last time it was sold here in the early 2000s, the F250 variant sold quite well.
It was available with a choice of a 4.2-litre turbo-diesel six, 5.4-litre petrol V8, and a huge 7.3-litre turbo-diesel V8.
The line-up currently starts at $47,850 for the F250 (base) and ranges through to $71,500 for the range-topping F250 XLT (4X4).
It’s not legal to use a 3500 kg rated tow vehicle to tow 4500 kg, and your insurance wouldn’t cover you in the event of a crash. Step up to the bigger vehicle, or maybe look at something like a RAM pickup.

You had to replace the airbags in some older vehicles built before the mid-1990s, but the airbags in vehicles later than that last the lifetime of the vehicle. There’s no real way of testing them to know they will work when needed.

Take it in as requested, even though you had the sensor replaced in 2006. It could be that Ford has an updated part that was developed since 2006 when they originally replaced yours. You don't know what part was used back then, it could simply have been another part of the sort that fails. You should take advantage of the offer of a new sensor. But at the same time Ford has acknowledged that there is a problem with the sensor, which should put you in the box seat to have the cost of replacing the sensor back in 2006 reimbursed. I would work through the dealer, and have him make a request of Ford for the money to be paid back.
