Starting its life in 2009 as a people mover, the Peugeot 5008 morphed into a seven-seat mid-size SUV for its second-generation starting in 2017.
It is the largest SUV in the Peugeot line-up, sitting above the five-seat 3008.
It competes with the Renault Koleos, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
The line-up currently starts at $65,657 for the 5008 GT Sport 1.6 THP 133 and ranges through to $65,657 for the range-topping 5008 GT Sport 1.6 THP 133.
Our advice is that you should drive on the ‘goo’ as little as possible and to get the tyre repaired as soon as you can. From that you could feel confident about driving more than 3 km, but you should be driving straight to the nearest tyre shop to get the puncture repaired. We can confirm it does have tyre pressure monitoring.

The 5008 GT has some great features and some are definitely family friendly, while others are simply plush. The dashboard is headlined by a 10-inch touchscreen multimedia system and a large 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. There’s also a great compact sports steering wheel that makes you feel like you’re driving a race car. Both models come with a black headliner but the GT Sport also comes with a panoramic sunroof. Both models have ‘picnic tables’ on the back of the front seats and retractable sun blinds in the middle row.
The 5008’s boot is still usable with all three rows in action, with 237L of cargo capacity available, but you can stow the two rear seats to get 1670L when five seats are in use. And if you want maximum cargo capacity, the middle seats can also be folded, to get 2042L.
All 5008 models come with seven seats. The GT Diesel is equipped with synthetic leather seats with a copper-coloured top-stitch. The GT Sport gets an upgrade to Nappa leather with grey top-stitch. Both models enjoy heated front seats with eight-way power adjustments, lumbar support and knee support. Driver’s seat has a two-position memory function, as well. The front passenger’s seat can fold flat for additional storage space. An added bonus is the massage function on the driver’s seat, seen in both models.
One of the few of its style, the middle row is compromised of three individual seats that can be folded as such. All three have ISOFIX mounts and three top tether child seat mounts and you should be able to fit three child seats side-by-side. The third row has two seats that can be folded flat underneath the cargo mats or removed completely, if needed. The middle row and third row both fold flat for a level cargo area.
Standard equipment in the Peugeot 5008: 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, 10-inch touchscreen multimedia system, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree reversing and front cameras, park assist function, keyless entry and push button start, LED lights, sequential indicating lights, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and digital radio.
The Peugeot 5008 GT Diesel has an official 0-100km/h sprint time of 10.2 seconds, while the GT Sport achieves 9.4 seconds.
