2024 VW T-Roc price and specs: Update adds more features for more money to Hyundai Kona rival

Volkswagen has updated pricing and specification for some variants of its T-Roc small SUV.

Volkswagen Australia has increased pricing and specification for some T-Roc small SUV grades.

However, two special-edition grades – the CityLife and R Grid Edition – escape the price rise and equipment changes.

Available in five variants, the T-Roc kicks off at $35,990 before on-road costs for the CityLife special edition that was revealed in May.

The Style moves up $1790 to $38,890, but buyers are compensated for the extra spend with satellite navigation, voice control, a Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, blind-spot monitoring and rear traffic alert.

Volkswagen Australia points out that some of these features were available in the now-discontinued $2050 Sound & Vision option pack previously, “making the T-Roc Style even better value than before”.

Next up the T-Roc ladder is the R-Line, which moves up $1890 to $47,090, and scores Nappa leather, heated front seats, power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, blind-spot monitoring and rear traffic alert in the update.

The Style grade features a Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster.

Again, VW Australia highlights that some of these features were offered in a $3950 Luxury Package that is now discontinued.

Then the T-Roc line-up moves to the $54,300 R Grid Edition, while the flagship R is positioned at $61,990.

As a reminder, the CityLife and Style grades are powered by a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine that outputs 110kW/250Nm to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Available in five variants, the T-Roc kicks off at ,990 before on-road costs.

The R-Line makes use of a 140kW/320Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, and features all wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Finally, the R Grid Edition and R are powered by a 221kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit, matched also to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

VW Australia’s revised T-Roc line-up will arrive in local showrooms late in the third quarter of the year, alongside the CityLife.
