The Alfa Romeo Giulia has been designed from the outset to be the car that puts the iconic Italian company back on the premium sedan map.
Built on top of a brand new platform - with help from the best engineers from all corners of the Fiat, Ferrari and Alfa empire - the rear-drive, four-door, five-seat Giulia is offered in a number of guises, including the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol in the Giulia TI for $69,950, and even a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.
Perched at the top of the Guilia tree though is the $174,200, sport-orientated Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport which is powered by a 375kW, 600Nm 2.9-litre turbocharged V6 designed by Ferrari itself.
There are seven colour choices in the Giulia range, including white, black, blue, two greys and two reds. Additionally, the Quadrofoglio alone can be chosen in a unique green shade. There is also the choice of either black or tan interior in the base Ti, black or red interior for the Veloce, or a choice of standard black leather seats or carbon leather/Alcantara blended seats with green stitching for the Quadrofoglio.
Interior features on every Alfa Romeo Giulia include leather seat trim, a leather-bound steering wheel with heating, an 8.8-inch multimedia touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, with dark interior headlining.
This sounds like a job for an auto electrician, as it's impossible to diagnose something like this by remote control. But for reference, it could be something as complex as a major problem with the wiring harness and its networking, or something as simple as a flat battery in the key fob. But the fact that the car knows something is wrong and issues a fault warning is actually good news and suggests that an electronic scan of the car will throw up the answer pretty quickly.
Unfortunately, Alfa Romeo dragged its heels on warranty, and only made a five-year warranty standard after April 22, 2022. Which means your 2019 car came only with a three-year warranty which has, of course, now expired.

While Alfa Romeos have never had a stellar reputation for being reliable, maintenance-free cars so long as they're treated sympathetically and serviced on the dot there shouldn't be any reason they're not a good car. They look great and the Quadrifoglio is a real performance machine.

Alfa Romeo's reborn Giulia range features three petrol engines and 10 diesel engine options, across a multitude of options for four- or rear-wheel drive layouts, as well as six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions. The top engine is the turbocharged 2.9-litre 503hp V6 in the Quadrifoglio, though a 2-litre turbo MultiAir four-cylinder is also available with either 197hp or 276hp depending on the model. The diesel engines are 2.2-litre Multijet II units boasting between 148hp and 207hp depending on the model.

Standard items include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, leather seat trim, a leather steering wheel, an 8.8-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, power adjust front seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, and the full array of safety equipment.
The Giulia is offered with two engines, either the base 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 206kW/400Nm in the Ti or Veloce, or a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 in the top-spec Quadrofoglio, which produces 375kW/600Nm.
The Giulua can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds for the 2.0-litre turbocharged variants, or 3.9 seconds for the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 Quadrofoglio. Top speeds are 240 and 308km/h, respectively.
Boot space is measured at 480 litres regardless of Giulia variant.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is a five-seat sedan.
All Giulia variants have 58-litre fuel tanks, with an approximate cruising range of 951km for the 2.0-litre turbocharged variants or 707km for the 2.9-litre V6 Quadrofoglio.
