Mitsubishi will whip the covers off an all-new seven-seat SUV concept that will embody "the future of family adventures" at the Philippine International Motor Show in just a week's time.
The brand hasn't named the model yet, but local media is pointing to the concept previewing the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, with the tough seven-seat 4WD expected to get a luxury makeover to go with its boxy and capable looks.
The unveil would work with the timings we anticipate, too. While an refreshed version of the current-gen Pajero Sport was revealed in March this year, Australia seemingly missed out on the upgrades.
Instead, our market will have its hand in the air for an all-new Pajero Sport, expected to go on sale in next year, or in early 2026.
So what to expect? The teaser images reveal a far more modern exterior treatment, with sleeker lighting front and rear and a raked black panel on the D pillar.
But the tough stance seemingly remains, with swollen haunches and sharp creased in the body continuing to lend the Pajero a tough, capable look, at least in this concept form.

As to what might be powering it, we would expect the new-gen Pajero Sport to adopt the recently upgraded powertrain form the current-gen Triton, meaning a 2.4-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine producing maximum outputs of 150kW and 470Nm. Power would be transmitted to all-four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.
But we also know from Nissan the diesel is unlikely to last the entire lifespan of the Pajero Sport, with the both brands reportedly studying petrol plug-in hybrid solutions for the Navara and Triton, the latter providing the platform for the Pajero Sport.

“We need to make sure that if we electrify, how we electrify. I think it will be a two-step approach, first with a PHEV solution, then later on with EV. That will be the two-step approach," Nissan’s Chairperson of the AMEIO Region, Guillaume Cartier, recently told media of the new Navara.
“That’s what we’re looking at, but first it will be with a diesel approach.
“On the first (PHEV) one we are with Mitsubishi, but the next one we are looking at. Because there is also technology we have in-house, which is solid-state battery, but that will take time."
