Mazda’s take on the BMW X5 has landed in Australia.
Dubbed the CX-70 the full-sized five-seat SUV joins its seven-seat twin, the CX-90, and the smaller five-seat CX-60 in the brand’s expanding line-up. A seven-seat version of the CX-60 - called the CX-80 - will also arrive this year.
Prices for the luxurious five-seater start at $75,970, before on-road costs, and rise to $84,970.
It follows the same formula as the CX-60, CX-90 and coming CX-80 and is equipped with the choice of a 3.3-litre inline six-cylinder turbo-petrol or diesel engine, both with mild hybrid assistance.
The petrol engine makes 254kW and 500Nm and the diesel engine produces 187kW and 550Nm. Both are matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive biased all-wheel drive set-up.
It is available in just two grades: GT and Azami.
