The new Toyota HiLux is getting close.
Images have surfaced on social media of the new workhorse testing in Thailand, a major production hub for HiLux and where Australia-sourced vehicles are built.
Instagram account @Autonetmagz has posted images of a single-cab version of the new HiLux wearing heavy camouflage.
The single cab with a long tray is popular in Thailand as many are used as taxis and other transport options.
You can make out the HiLux’s new face, which brings fresh styling and brings it in line with some of Toyota's updated passenger car and SUV range such as the facelifted Toyota Corolla Cross or new Camry.
Japanese outlet Best Car, released a digital render of the updated HiLux recently and appears to be pretty close to how it’ll look when it launches.
The spy photos appear to confirm that the new HiLux won’t be a total revolution but more of an evolution of the current workhorse.

Bigger changes are expected to arrive in the coming years.
It is expected to maintain the same 2.8-litre turbo-diesel motor with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance found in the current HiLux initially, but the company has made no secret it is working on plug-in hybrid power.
Bigger changes are coming to the cabin, according to design sketches published by Thailand's Headlight Magazine.

The design sketches show a focus on in-cabin screens, increased storage, a new dash and vents, and - in a nod to its 4WD siblings - the gear shifter from the Toyota LandCruiser Prado.
Previous leaked design sketches showed the new HiLux had an integrated step in the exterior to allow for easier access to the tray, and is a prominent feature on its main rival Down Under, the Ford Ranger.
The spy pics don’t show the side step, but it may be hidden behind the camouflage wrap that is designed to hide key features.
