The Engage is the entry-level trim in the Australian Nissan Ariya line-up.

Pricing for this variant starts at $55,840 before on-road costs.

As standard the Ariya Engage comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a six-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control and charcoal fabric upholstery.

Boot space is 466L with the rear seats upright, expanding to 1350L with them folded. There’s no front boot available and no spare wheel. Only a tyre repair kit is offered.

Standard safety equipment includes seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, lane centring, adaptive cruise control, driver attention alert, front and rear parking sensors, as well as a reversing camera.

The Ariya Engage is powered by a single, front-mounted electric motor that produces 160kW and 300Nm. This is fed by a 63kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a WLTP claimed range of 385km.

A Type 2 CCS combination charge port is standard. DC charging is offered at rates up to 130kW, which would see the battery charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 35 minutes.

AC charging, on the other hand, is offered at rates up to 7.4kW, which would see the battery charge from 10 to 100 per cent in nine hours.
