Zeekr says its 009 electric people-mover will "end range anxiety", thanks to a combination of its sizeable battery, massive driving range and the ability to accrue one kilometre of range every second when plugged into an appropriate DC fast charger.
The 009 has just been officially unveiled in right-hand-drive guise for the first time, with the six- or seven-seat EV to launch in Australia in the fourth quarter of this year.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but international pricing points to a starting price somewhere between $120k and $150k, making the 009 very much a premium play for the new Geely-backed brand.
To justify that price tag, Zeekr is promising a people-mover like few others, equipping its flagship model with one of the biggest batteries we've heard of, as well as hot-hatch performance and the kind of in-car technology that wouldn't look out of place in a James Bond film.
Chief among the headline items is a promise from Zeekr's global chief, Andy An, who used the Hong Kong launch of the right-hand-drive 009 for media and dealers to boldly claim the electric people-mover will not only be faster to fuel than an ICE equivalent, but will essentially banish range anxiety to the history books.
To do it, the brand has fitted the flagship 009 model with a massive 140kWh CTP 2.0 CATL battery (108kWh and 116kWh models are also available), which pairs with Zeekr's 800-volt electrical architecture.
The real magic is in Zeekr's mega-fast chargers, with the brand building its own branded charging stations that deliver peak power of 800kW per outlet.
Zeekr is promising the 009 will travel in excess of 800kms on a single charge with the biggest battery fitted, and up to 740kms with the 108kWh battery (both on the Chinese test cycle, rather than WLTP).
When it comes time to recharge, the mega-fast chargers will deliver one kilometre in driving range per second, or in excess of 500kms in 10 minutes.

The bad news? We don't know exactly what Zeekr 009 we will get in Australia yet – there are 400-volt versions with slower charging speeds also on offer, which when fitted with the 116kWh battery will travel a less-impressive 582kms between charges on the WLTP cycle.
We also don't know if Zeekr will launch its 800kW chargers in Australia, or whether another company will match the outputs.
Currently, charging speeds top out at 350kW in Australia. To access the full 350kW, though, a vehicle requires an 800V architecture. The more common 400V systems will draw a maximum of around 175kW.
Elsewhere, though, the six- or seven-seat 009 is swimming with high-tech features, with Zeekr describing it as a Rolls-Royce-style van. That includes active sound deadening in the cabin, which uses the seat speakers to create a cone of silence around backseat passengers, so the the driver can't overhear important conversations.
There's also feet heating designed to act like a hot-stone massage, a fold-down high-def TV screen for backseat riders, a 30-speaker Yamaha sound system with surround sound, and an A1-powered virtual assistant.
It's also staggeringly fast. Despite weighing close to three tonnes, the flagship dual-motor 009 makes more than 580kW, and will clip 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
The Zeekr 009 will land in Australia in the fourth quarter of this year, with pricing expected to begin well north of $100k.
