In making what it has positioned as “minor specification changes”, Mazda Australia is moving to make the Mazda3 hatch more competitive in the hotly contested small-car market.
A Mazda Australia spokesperson told CarsGuide: “The changes were made in order to keep pricing as competitive as possible, and in this scenario we focused on ensuring these changes had the least impact on customers as possible.”
The spec tweaks are confined to the G20 Evolve, which loses its wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and the G25 Evolve SP which also misses out on the previously included paddle shifters as well as side-mirror reverse tilt-down, two-position memory and driver's side auto-dimming functions and a powered driver's seat with memory function.
Prices are unchanged across the Mazda3 line-up.
