The 2024 Volkswagen Caddy 5 carries a braked towing capacity of up to 1500 Kg, but check to ensure this applies to the configuration you're considering.
All four models in the Caddy/Caddy Life people-mover range come equipped with three rows of seating that can accommodate up to seven occupants in a 2-3-2 configuration. The second and third rows can also be easily removed and replaced as required.
The Volkswagen Caddy 5 2024 prices range from $34,100 for the basic trim level Van Cargo TSI220 to $67,760 for the top of the range Wagon California TDI320.
The base model Caddy seven-seater comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels with a full-size spare, nine airbags, reversing camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel and four-speaker multimedia with 8.25-inch colour touchscreen. The top-shelf Caddy Life adds keyless start, 17-inch alloys, chrome roof rails, power-tailgate, 'Trialog' diamond quilt-style seat trim, adaptive cruise control and more.
The cabin's spacious and airy feel belies its relatively compact external dimensions. It can comfortably accommodate occupants in all three rows, ranging from small kids to lanky teenagers to tall adults.
The base model's TSI 220 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine produces 84kW and 220Nm, while the premium TDI 320 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel raises outputs to 90kW and 320Nm.
The Caddy people-mover's luggage area offers 446 litres load volume behind the third-row of seating, which expands to a maximum 3105 litres (or more than 3.1 cubic metres) of load volume with the second and third rows removed.
The Caddy/Caddy Life people-mover range can accelerate from 0-100km/h in approximately 11 seconds. Top speed is 186km/h.
VW claims an official combined consumption of 6.2L/100km for the TSI 220 petrol engine and 4.9L/100km for the TDI 320 turbo-diesel, which represents theoretical driving ranges of around 800km and 1000km, respectively, from their 50-litre fuel tanks. The TSI 220 requires minimum 95 RON petrol.
