Kia has announced pricing for its upcoming small electric SUV, the EV3, ahead of its arrival at dealerships by the end of this month.
The four variant line-up will start at $47,600 for the Standard Range Air, rising to $53,315 for the Long Range Air, $58,600 for the Long Range Earth and topping out at $63,950 for the GT-Line Long Range (all priced at before on-road costs).
That makes its starting price $7610 more than the entry-level BYD Atto 3 Essential ($39,990), but $6400 less than a Hyundai Kona Electric ($54,000) (both at before on-road costs).
All EV3 variants are underpinned by Hyundai’s E-GMP 400V platform, while Standard Range variants carry a 58.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack and Long Range variants get a 81.4kWh unit.
That delivers a range-leading 604km of WLTP-rated range on the Air Long Range, while the more budget-friendly Air Standard Ranger delivers 436km. Both the Long Range Earth and top-spec GT-Line Long Range deliver 536km.
The relatively strong driving range figures are partially credited to Kia’s new iPedal 3.0 adjustable system, which debuts on the EV3 for 2025.
Kia said it delivers more efficient one-pedal driving, meaning when you take your foot off the accelerator the motor will act as a generator by slowing the car down and transferring energy that is typically lost while braking back into electricity to recharge the battery.

The system can be configured to a driver's preference to maximise efficiency, while it is also functional when driving in reverse.
Design-wise, the EV3 carries much of the design language of the now four-strong ‘EV’ product line, which also includes the EV6, EV9 and EV5 in Australia.
That means it gets Kia’s ‘Star Map’ exterior front and rear lighting, ‘Tiger Face’ headlights and taillight designs and a black front grille and lower rear apron.

Inside, all EV3 comes equipped with twin 12.3-inch touchscreens for multimedia and digital driver’s display functions and a 5.3-inch climate control screen.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with vehicle-to-load functionality, a gear selector with shift-by-wire capability, while Earth and GT-Line trims add a smart tailgate and 19-inch alloys (up from 17-inches).
The GT-Line adds a head-up display, a wide sunroof and an eight-speaker Harman and Kardon sound system.
All EV3s come equipped with Kia’s suite of adaptive driver safety assist systems, which includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and rear cross traffic alert.
