The SX+ might be the sweet spot in the Kia Sportage range, sitting below only the flagship GT-Line and above the S and SX. It’s the first trim to score artificial leather seats, rather than cloth, but also adds 19-inch alloys, LED fog lights, wireless device charging, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats and a better Harman Kardon Premium Sound System.
But… there’s no hybrids on offer here. The SX+ trim level is only offered with a 2.0-litre petrol or diesel engine, or the 1.6-litre turbo-petrol. So if you’re chasing electrification, you’re out of luck.
Still, the turbo-petrol now pairs with a slick eight-speed auto, produces a healthy 132kW and 265Nm, and powers all four wheels.

From the SX+, the safety kit also adds Kia’s Highway Driving Assist, which pairs active cruise with a lane entering function.
