The list of all-electric SUV options for a reasonable price has grown with the arrival of the all-new GAC Aion V Luxury.
The flagship model of the line-up, the new brand has a long history in China as a partner of Toyota and Honda - and it shows in the polished presentation and build.
Priced from $45,590 (plus on-road costs) the Aion V Luxury offers plenty of value with LED headlights and taillights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats that also massage, dual-zone climate control, a nine-speaker sound system plus a centre console box that is both heated and cooled.
It's powered by a 150kW/210Nm electric motor, which drives the front wheels, and a 75.2kWh lithium-phosphate battery, which provides up to 510km of range on a single charge, according to the company.Â
The Aion V also has a strong line-up of driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, emergency lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert and door opening warning.
