Like the ST, the lower-mid grade ST-L comes in front-wheel drive five-seat guise for $43,190 before on-road costs, and all-wheel drive seven-seat guise for $46,290.
Standard equipment in the ST-L include 10-way power driver's seat, fog lights, leather steering wheel, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated front seats, sliding rear 20/40/20 seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, the 'Divide-N-Hide' handy split cargo system and dual-zone air conditioning.
That's on top of LED head- and tail-lights, roof rails and an 8.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
As with all non-hybrid X-Trails, it comes with the revised 135kW/244Nm four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
All X-Trails come with a five-star ANCAP rating and safety gear on the ST-L includes front auto emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear AEB with pedestrian detection and a cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control.
