The Range Rover Evoque HSE is the top-spec Evoque coming in at before on-road costs of either $89,850 for the P300 petrol or $90,420 for the D240 diesel.

Only those top two engine choices in the Evoque range are available on the HSE. Both are 2.0-litre turbos which drive all four wheels via a nine-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The D240 has power outputs of 177kW/500Nm, while the P300 has outputs of 221kW/400Nm.

The premium drivetrains are aided by a 48V mild-hybrid system, which is capable of switching the engine off under 17km/h and Land Rover claims it will boost fuel efficiency by six per cent. They are also the only two drivelines able to send 100 per cent of torque to any one wheel thanks to a more sophisticated all-wheel drive system.

Either engine option can be had with the R-Dynamic sports body kit at a cost of $1680.

Standard equipment on the HSE includes 20-inch alloy wheels, the dual-screen ‘Touch Pro Duo’ multifunction touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as well as built-in sat nav, premium Windsor leather interior with 14-way electrically adjustable front seats, climate control, a 10-speaker premium audio system, auto-dimming rear view mirror including the camera-based ‘ClearView’ system premium LED headlights with auto high-beam control, a 360-degree reversing camera as well as front and rear parking sensors and keyless entry.

The new Evoque range carries a maximum five-star ANCAP safety rating and has auto emergency braking (AEB), lane keep assist (LKAS) and traffic sign recognition as standard. The HSE gains a 360-degree camera, auto-park assist, rear-cross traffic alert, high-speed AEB and blind-spot monitoring (BSM) as standard.

The optional ‘Driver Assist Pack’ contains adaptive cruise control and the 360-degree off-roading camera and comes at a cost of $490 on the HSE.

All Evoques also have front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points on the outboard rear seats.

Land Rover offers a three-year/100,000km warranty and servicing is condition-based but at least 12-monthly for the new Evoque range.
