Bugatti goes a blue streak with Veyron

...they’ve literally gone a blue streak.

The show car unveiled at Frankfurt is essentially the same as the usual Veyron — and few would complain about that — but features a stunning blue carbon-fibre body.

But if you want the one on the stand, you’re too late. It had sold by the preview night. You can order another, if you’ve got the equivalent of about $2.6 million (plus whatever taxes would load on top).

You’d think the global financial crisis would have made that kind of price unreachable, but during the car’s unveiling at the Volkswagen Group preview night, Bugatti’s head, Franz-Josef Paefgen, said he believes the slump will evaporate and there is still money out there — waiting — and that forecasts show an improvement is coming. "A lot of people are keeping their hands in their pockets and seeing how the situation develops," he said. "But the medium to long-term future is bright… forecasts are clear. "The financial crisis is just a crisis of confidence."
