Holden SV6 Ute wins Readers Choice Award

With over five and a half thousand entries, the inaugural carsguide Car of the Year Readers Choice Awards has been a rousing success, and we are pleased to announce that this years’ winner is the Holden SV6 Ute.

It was close, but with more than 1000 votes, the Ute edged home ahead of the VW Golf GT TSi with over 800 entries and the Mitsubishi Lancer VR with over 600 votes, clearly demonstrating the revival of the Aussie icon.

Touted as the best Ute ever, Holden have certainly poured a lot of effort into the VE development program and created a vehicle that is not only a workhorse but an affordable, true blue sports car. With stability control across the range, modern styling and a sleak, roomy interior, from $35,990, it’s not hard to see why the SV6 Ute was our readers choice.

“Aussie designed and made, a bold statement to the rest of the world...”  said one reader.

“The Holden SV6 Ute represents Aussie culture pragmatically and stylishly while delivering an incredible driving experience…”  said another.

But unfortunately there can only be one lucky entry, so without further ado, the winner of the first ever carsguide Car of the Year Readers Choice Award competition is Martyn Cook of Halls Head in WA.

Martyn’s entry: “With power, good looks and the versatility of a ute, the SV6 Ute has got it all. I want one to install my Navman in.”

Congratulations Martyn, you are now the proud owner of a Navman S90i worth $799. Happy travelling!
